Cookie & Browser Storage Notice
This draft explains the essential sign-in cookie and browser storage used by MapYourTrade. Confirm it against your actual hosting and production setup before launch.
Draft for Slovenia and EU users · Last updated 25 October 2026
01What this notice covers
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Similar technologies such as localStorage may also store information on your device. Under EU ePrivacy rules, non-essential storage generally requires prior consent; strictly necessary storage may be exempt. This notice is a draft, not a substitute for checking the current law and your actual production configuration.
02Essential sign-in cookie
MapYourTrade uses a cookie named mapyourtrade_session to keep you signed in and protect your account. It is HTTP-only, uses SameSite=Lax, is marked Secure in production, and expires after 30 days. It is necessary to provide the account service and is not used for advertising.
03Local browser preferences
The dashboard saves your selected layout and visible statistic cards in localStorage so those preferences persist in that browser. These settings are not used for advertising. News filters, timezone, and session markers are saved to your account database instead of browser storage.
04Analytics and third-party technologies
The current application code does not intentionally load advertising cookies or cross-site analytics trackers. The economic calendar is fetched server-side from a third-party source. If analytics, advertising, embedded media, or other non-essential technologies are added, update this notice and obtain any consent required before setting or reading them.
05Managing storage
You can block or delete cookies and localStorage using your browser settings. Blocking the sign-in cookie prevents account sign-in from working; clearing localStorage resets dashboard layout preferences. Verify whether your production hosting or security tools add additional cookies and list them here before launch.
